When It Comes to a Guitar, There’s No Right or Wrong
Guitarist and singer Eric “Diy” Tannenbaum, who was featured on the new music video for the “Dance of the Dead” song, tells Billboard he has “always been a fan of the instrument.”
Tannenbus, a vocalist for the group, was in town promoting his band’s new album.
He was also the subject of a viral video in which he performed the song, which has been viewed more than 30 million times on YouTube.
In the video, Tannensbetts voice over describes the band’s current music video as “fun and energetic.”
The song is a dark and melancholy tune that takes place in a cemetery.
It is also a nod to a popular American folk song, “The Dead,” that is said to have been sung by a group of dead men walking through a cemetery in the 1800s.
“I don’t really know if I have a good sense of what song it is, but I do know that this is a very powerful song,” Tannenbergs voiceover says.
“It is very haunting, and I love the way that song speaks to me and my emotions.”
Tannisbetts lyrics also reference “a few people in the cemetery” who are dead.
“When you see them, it’s very sad,” he says.
“But you have a choice, and that is to be there and listen and just try to be a good person and not be afraid to be yourself.”
Tanzana, Florida-based Tannenburgs band, who has been touring extensively over the past year, released their first album, “Lies My Way,” in April.
It has since sold more than 15 million copies and spawned singles such as “Dead,” “The Man Who Sold the World” and “Spirited Away.”
Tannebrts newest album, entitled “The Dance of the Death,” will be released on Sept. 20.
