How to Get Out of the Dark on the Holiday with Music Instrumental: The Art of Baroque Music
A year ago, in the wake of the mass shooting at a California movie theater that left 12 people dead, the pop music industry and some musicians were quick to blame the shooter for the tragedy.
But now, a study from the Institute for Music at the University of Pennsylvania has found that the blame for the mass shootings lies squarely with the pop musicians themselves.
Pop music, as a genre, is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the U.S. In 2015, the music industry recorded a $2.8 billion industry, which has jumped by 50 percent in the past five years, according to the Music Industry Association of America.
In 2014, it was estimated that the industry made up about 13 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product.
Pop musicians have long used their music to raise awareness about social and mental health issues, from issues like bullying to the issue of mental illness.
They are also heavily influenced by the pop culture they are creating.
In 2016, the National Association of Broadcasters surveyed music industry executives and found that they were all over the place when it came to social issues.
In one survey, more than 80 percent of those surveyed agreed that music should play a role in addressing social problems.
The survey found that in 2016, music is the No. 1 social issue, with a whopping 69 percent of respondents saying that their music contributed to their overall happiness and support for the causes they were promoting.
The results also revealed that musicians who were at the top of their fields in the pop industry, like Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, and Lady Gaga, were the ones who were most likely to say they were inspired by their music.
In 2017, the Association of American Publishers surveyed artists, publishers, and radio stations to see what music industry issues were most pressing.
The report found that pop music artists were the top performers, with artists like Katy, Lady Gaga and Selena performing at the highest levels of popularity.
The study also found that artists like Lady Gaga are the most likely of any artist to be featured in a song.
While the numbers don’t necessarily prove the song was inspired by pop music, it does suggest that pop musicians are a major influencer of pop culture.
